1.- Introduction to Yama Brahmacharya
1.1.- The principles of the Yama Brahmacharya
Brahmacharya, or one who follows the path of Brahma. In a specific sense, pay attention to preserving your energy, and using it sparingly, since its use is limited by time. Continence, abstention and even celibacy are practiced to sublimate the energy (Ojas), and thus be able to access higher states of Consciousness more easily.
Being moderate and balanced in the Yama Brahmacharya are two great virtues that must be worked hard, since the desires, instincts and passions have the power to drag us; and if we don’t put our intention, they take control of our lives, creating important imbalances on many levels.

1.2.- What means Brahmacharya?
Brahmacharya is traditionally understood as the “behavior that leads to Brahman“, the divine creator in Hinduism and yoga. The sanskrit term is derived from Brahman, meaning “Ultimate Reality” or “Divine Creator”, and charya, meaning “to move” or “to follow“.
2.- The profundity of Brahmacharya
Brahmacharya is one of the five yamas (spiritual rules) listed by Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras. It is also one of the 10 yamas listed in the Upanishads.
Traditionally, it was intended to encourage yogis to use their energy for a higher purpose than external desires.
Sin embargo, Brahmacharya tiene significados ligeramente diferentes según el contexto:
Ashrama: In Hinduism, these are the four age-based stages of life, or ashramas.
Virtue: Can refer to a virtuous lifestyle, including celibacy, even marriage and fidelity in marriage.
Celibacy: Refers to the renunciation of sex and marriage, among other things.
2.1.- Energy sublimation
Once we are moderate in the consumption of vital (and sexual) energy, the sublimation of energy is a process that can be stimulated and enhanced. This occurs through Yoga, Pranayama, Asana and Meditation.
In the Yama Brahmacharya, the sacred act of loving relationships as a couple, the control of sexual energy leads us to states of an intense beatific state of consciousness and cancellation of the ego, with profound harmonizing and regenerating effects.
3.- The transfiguration as a couple
The sacred union of a couple who loves each other deeply becomes an opportunity to concentrate and direct our Consciousness to higher levels.
The extraordinary intensity of the emotions experienced in Brahmacharya, transfigure the couple, revealing their own Consciousness. Pure love is the bridge that connects us with our highest Consciousness.
