Yantras: the spiritual power of geometric shapes
Yantras are geometric drawings that are identified with deities or myths of the Hindu spiritual tradition.
Yantras have different symbolisms and are given powers to protect us, transform us, or to help us in our lives. Also, in different techniques and practices, Yantras are used to access deep meditation and states of no mind.
These geometric shapes are considered to have the ability to concentrate subtle energies and create energy fields around them.
Yantras are normally associated with two-dimensional geometric shapes, although they should actually be viewed and understood in a three-dimensional way. For example, if we look at the plan drawing of Hindu temples, we will see that they are actually three-dimensional Yantras.
In the West we could identify the Yantras with the talismans or protection elements, such as the images of Saints of Christianity, etc.
