Definition of Nadi:
The Nadis are a system of channels in our body, such as the lymphatic and circulatory system, through which energy flows to be distributed throughout our body.
The subtle body, to which the Nadi channel system belongs, is considered to contain a total of 72,000 Nadis, distributed throughout our body. The three most important channels are Sushumna Nadi which correspond to the spine, Ida and Pingala Nadis which correspond to the left and right side of the spine.
These three Nadis are distributed from the base of the spine to the top of the skull. In this way the energy is distributed throughout the body, from the brain, through the spine, the nervous tissue and the movement of the muscles. At the point between the eyebrows, also called the third eye, these three Nadis come together and the flow of their energy. Sushumna Nadi is the most important because the energy that activates our chakras flows through it.
