Definition of Mala:
Mala is a necklace or rosary used in Hinduism as a method of meditation, which has 108 spherical beads that are usually made of wood or rudraksha seeds.
The Mala is a sacred object, with which to performjapa. Japa consists of taking the first bead on one side with the right hand, and moving to the next ones with the middle, ring and thumb fingers while reciting a Mantra, every time you pass a bead. This action is performed with the aim of canceling the discursive mind, without losing the thread and avoiding being distracted.
