Definition of Jnana:
JÑANA is a concept of Hinduism that symbolizes “knowledge”, in all its breadth.
En la filosofia del Advaita Vedanta , que representa a la corriente del no dualismo, Jñana es el conocimiento directo, atesorado en nuestra alma (o Atman). This knowledge that keeps our soul, is equivalent to Brahman, Divine consciousness that encompasses everything, which we must recognize within ourselves. There is no difference between our soul and Consciousness (God).
In other philosophical currents of India, Jñana refers to pure knowledge, where the soul is recognized as a spiritual entity. We also find the concept of Jnana in the stream of expanded knowledge, or the wisdom that comes through practice.
