1.- Asanas as a couple, a way of sharing Hatha Yoga
Yoga is a path of self-knowledge and, at the same time, a path that is based on love, for oneself and for others. Starting from Hatha Yoga, we have a series of Asanas that are performed as a couple, where we find an experience of harmony that is achieved between two.
The persevering practice of these Asanas will help you and your partner to evolve spiritually, and facilitate elevated experiences of Freedom. The spirit of this yoga practice is, of course, to exalt Love.
Each of the Asana that we will teach next activate one of the six Chakras specified in the title of the Asana.
You collaborate with this blog by buying incense and essences in our online store Inciensoshop. The selection that we offer you in this link is correct for the practice of the Asanas in Couple.
2.- Examples of Asanas in Couple
2.1.- Uttanasana (first Chakra)
Facing each other with arms outstretched holding each other’s shoulders. We are taking small steps backwards keeping our legs and back straight, so that the swords are aligned with the ground. The arms must maintain pressure on the shoulders of the partner to stretch them.
2.2.- Utkatasana (second Chakra)
Effect: Strengthens the legs and abdomen, while tightening the muscles evenly. Improves shoulder mobility and opens up the pecs. The arms and back are strengthened and the spine is stretched. Often used to prevent and treat flat feet
2.3.- Navasana, the position of the bow (third Chakra)
Sit on the mat, facing each other, with your knees bent and the soles of your feet touching the soles of your partner. Take your partner’s hands.
Keep your spine as straight as possible. Raise both feet with your partner, initially keeping your knees slightly bent.
Once you straighten your feet, exhale deeply, keeping your chest up and your spine straight. Maintain this posture as long as possible.
2.4.- Urdhva Uttanasana (fourth Chakra)
Standing back to back, we hold hands and tilt the whole body, from the feet forward. Then we contort our backs backwards until our heads meet.
2.5.- Parivritta Sukhasana (fifth Chakra)
In the same meditation position on our backs, we turn our torso to the left until we reach our partner’s right knee with our left hand. The right hand rests on the left knee of our partner.
2.6.- Balasana (sixth Chakra)
One of the two sits on their knees, resting their buttocks on the partner’s heels, then we lean forward from the waist with our arms stretched out until the chest is on our knees. The partner lies back to back against our partner’s back
3.- Benefits of Asanas in Couple
3.1.- Greater confidence
You count on your partner to perform and hold a certain position. You lean on him, on his body (and your partner on yours). In short, trust in your mutual support, which is the basis of any relationship.
3.2.- Get to know your partner better
Asanas seek knowledge of oneself and of one’s partner. Practicing together you will discover facets that you did not know about each other, virtues and limitations, physical and mental capacities.
3.3.- A good time as a couple
Without a doubt, immersing yourself in an experience as enriching as asanas as a couple brings you multiple benefits. Having some time for ourselves discovering the “I” of each one and what we have in common can be fun and exciting in equal parts.
