Definition of Surya:
Surya is the god who represents the sun in its triple aspect, the one that illuminates, the one that revives and the one that feeds. Surya is glorified in Vedic hymns as the god of the sun, sunset and dawn.
Surya is first known in the Ríg-Veda, India’s oldest text, written in 2000 BC. Surya is part of the ancient triad of major gods, along with Agni the god of fire and heat, and Indra the god of the sky, storm and lightning.
