Definition of Pratyahara:
Pratyahara is the fifth element among the eight stages of Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga. It is a bridge between the bahiranga (external) aspects of yoga.
In the Pratyahara stage, the consciousness of the individual is internalized so that the sensations of the senses of taste, touch, sight, hearing and smell do not reach their respective centers in the brain and lead the practitioner to the following stages of Yoga.
