Definition of Kali:
Kali is a powerful and decisive goddess, associated with death and destruction. Sometimes she is presented as the wife of the god Shiva. It tells a story that in a situation where Kali loses control she killed the god Shiva, that’s why in some images she is shown dancing on him. At this demonstration, in a state of shock, he stuck out his tongue and stopped.
Kali was born from the eyebrows of the goddess Durga in the battle in which she fought evil. In a state of maddened fury he killed demons incessantly, until together with Durga he managed to defeat all the Asuras. Kali is sometimes depicted carrying knives and spattering her victims with blood.
